I am very excited to visit in the summer and for the wedding of my two wonderful friends. Words can barely express how much they mean to me, and it will be rewarding and difficult to do so in a speech at the wedding.
I am currently trying to plan a trip to Japan, which is proving to be very time consuming. I have an idea mapped out of where to go, but now I have to find places to stay and all of that...It is fun, but again, time consuming! I usually just travel with little plans, which is great. But going on a trip solo, I want to have a better plan, and want to keep moving and keep very busy. Anyways...here are some pictures of my travels thus far since my last post...
I have done a lot of traveling with my friend Matt over the past few months. Here in this section we have Budapest. The picture with the massive crowd is an anti-internet tax protest. The next day we found out they did in fact not go through with the tax. There's the maze of darkness, which is just as it seems - pitch black in a labyrinth. Of course there is the parliament building with one of the famous bridges. And then a fantastic caving adventure. I took the rear and tried to snap some pictures as we went - was a bit tough to do. The caving was one of the best experiences I have had. It was so much fun; Budapest was a beautiful, happening city. I would go back in a heartbeat. I have other pictures on my phone that I may upload another time. Pictures of the ruin bars, and of our time at the shooting range...
In we go!
Sucked up a hole!
Maybe you can see the small elevation difference?
The Next 2 pictures are from the same trip - only these two are in Vienna. Only spent a day there, and did not snap too many pictures. Vienna was full of old buildings and a lot of history. I don't remember the significance of the building here, but I loved the way it looked.
These next few are from Prague. I took more pictures, but I do not want to overwhelm you with them! Of course we have the famous astronomical clock. The famous Charles Bridge, with the castle as well. And then this lookout tower that we hiked to. You can take a cable car up, but we decided to walk...
Charles bridge seen in both of these pictures
The lookout tower, and view from. (Was hard to snap a decent picture...)
Next up, we have Kiruna. Way north in Sweden. It is truly a winter wonderland. It was great spending the Christmas holidays there in the frigid weather. We were out and about in -35 C weather, but it was definitely worth it. If you go, definitely try the reindeer. I will let these pictures do most the talking. When I was snapping pictures of Reindeer, it was 35 below. It hurt to take the glove off and take pictures, but I took as many as I could! You can tell which Northern Lights pictures were not taken using my camera...but I tried! Oh, and of course, you will see the ice hotel and some of the rooms!
Matt, I, and Emily
Where we relaxed and at for a while.
This is all you saw, all around us
He wanted his turn
A bit cold. At one point I lost feeling in my feet while driving the sled.
Even though the sun never rose, you would still get some light, especially being reflected off the snow!
Had to pay a visit to the church
Last but not least, the beautiful Malta. We also visited Gozo. We went during their coldest month - both in the water and out. The last few days were quite beautiful, though. I would definitely go back to this deceptively large island. Did several days of diving in the 14 C water, with cold air, and some rain here and there. Visited the walled city of Valletta, ate great food, Popeye's Village, the Azure Window, and more! The first picture is the view from our hotel - you can also see our dive center where we went most mornings to start off with some diving in the cold cold waters! I am now an Advanced Open Water Diver! So that is neat! I will definitely continue diving in the future.
Matt doing some rescue diving skills. There is actually a big shipwreck that I dove right at this location.
On the way to Gozo
Hello sun!
Goodbye...
Azue Window
Water flowing in from the Sea. They called it the Inland Sea
Some nice cold diving!
Because selfies are a thing now, right?
Cold and rainy diving, but still having a great time.
Popeye's Village!
They had a huge Christmas area. No idea why...is it in the movie? We deemed these rooms the 'Dubstep Elves' because they were playing dubstep type music, and the elves were all working (animatronics)
We were up on the lookout and he could not find us...
Valetta at night
The pool is where our dive center was (taken from out hotel)
Valletta during the day
A nice waterspout forming! Never did make it past this stage
Our last day, walking in Valletta. Two girls we met, who stayed at the same hotel, and who teach in the same company we do.
So Say We All
